Parker SWB Series Stainless Steel Ball Valve, Inline, 1" CPI Compression Fitting: Industrial Ball Valves: Industrial & Scientific. This stainless steel SWB series three-piece inline ball valve with compression fittings (CPI) on both ends controls the flow of fluids in process and instrumentation applications. It is made of stainless steel for resistance to scaling and corrosion. This two-way valve has a stainless steel lever with a vinyl sleeve for manual quarter-turn on/off control, and an inline design for connecting two tubes going in the same direction. Its one-piece construction reduces the possibility of leakage and the single-ferrule compression fittings (CPI) on both ends form a leak-tight pressure seal with connecting tubing and do not require additional joining preparations. This fitting type can be used in confined spaces or in applications where connections may be disassembled. Spring-loaded, glass-reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seats and standard PTFE seals reduce the risk of leakage. The valve’s center section swings out for replacing seats, seals, and the ball without major disruption to the piping system. It has a micro-finished ball that floats in the valve and is not fixed to the stem to reduce seat wear. This valve has a maximum pressure rating of 2,500 pounds per square inch gauge (psig) for cold working pressure (CWP), and a working temperature range of -65 to 350 degrees F (-54 C to 177 degrees C). The SWB series ball valve meets American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) A standards for quality assurance and is used in process, power, and oil and gas instrumentation applications, among others.。Ball valves use a spherical disc to control the flow between pipes, tubes, or hoses. Flow is allowed when the hole that pierces the ball-shaped disc is in line with the inlet and outlet of the valve. Flow is blocked when the ball is horizontally swiveled 90 degrees, so that the hole of the ball is perpendicular to the opening of the valve. Ball valves can be referred to as full port or reduced port (also known as regular or standard port) depending on the inner diameter of the valve. A ball valve is full port if the hole of the ball is the same size as the inner diameter of the connecting pipeline (resulting in lower friction) and is reduced port if the hole of the valve is one pipe size smaller than the pipe, resulting in less flow through the valve than through the shaft of the pipe. Ball valves may have a handle or lever that aligns with the ball’s position (open or closed) for manual operation.
